Promotional Meet at Hyderabad

As part of the promotional campaign of VYAPAR 2017 (Kerala B2B Meet) and to disseminate the details of Vyapar 2017 among the buying community in Andhra & Telangana regions, the Department of Industries & Commerce, Government of Kerala in association with Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) organised a Promotional Meet at Hotel Taj Deccan, Hyderabad on November 25, 2016.

The Promotional Meet was chaired by Shri. P.M. Francis IAS, Director (Industries & Commerce), Government of Kerala along with Shri. V. Rajagopal, Chief Executive Officer, Kerala Bureau of Industrial Promotion (K-BIP) and Shri. Devendra Surana, Chairman, FICCI Telangana State Council.

Key Note Address by Shri. P.M. Francis IAS,
Director (Industries & Commerce), Government of Kerala

‘Kerala is the Gateway of India in terms of maritime heritage of the Country’ stated Shri. P.M. Francis IAS, Director (Industries & Commerce), Government of Kerala while delivering the key note address during the Promotional Meet on Vyapar 2017 organised at Hyderabad.

The Director (Industries & Commerce) recalled the rich maritime tradition Kerala had from time immemorial and the trade that happened with Greece, Romans, Jews, Arabs, Chinese, Portuguese, Dutch, French and English who landed in Kerala and used its ports for trade with the said countries. The Director (Industries & Commerce) invited the buyers in Andhra & Telangana regions to actively take part in the Vyapar2017, the Kerala B2B Meet organised by Department of Industries & Commerce, Government of Kerala at Kochi from February 2 to 4 2017.

A short film projecting Vyapar 2017 was shown to the participants which showcased the strong SME manufacturing base of Kerala State. The selected SME sectors such as Food Processing, Handloom Textiles & Garments, Rubber, Coir Products, Ayurveda & Herbal, Electrical & Electronics and Traditional Sectors like Handicrafts, Bamboo etc. will display their products during the Meet; whereby the buyers will get an opportunity for direct interaction and one to one discussions with the participating manufacturers / sellers from Kerala.

Shri. V. Rajagopal, Chief Executive Officer, Kerala Bureau of Industrial Promotion (K-BIP) in his presentation explained about Vyapar 2017, the strength of Kerala in various Sectors and the event format during Vyapar 2017 as well as the registration process of buyers happening through FICCI. The local hospitality / accommodation will be provided by Department of Industries & Commerce, Government of Kerala to the selected and approved buyers during the event days.

Earlier Shri. Devendra Surana, Chairman, FICCI Telangana State Council in his welcome address recalled the close ties of trade happening between Kerala and Andhra & Telangana Regions. He also pointed about the high human resources, qualified manpower, high literacy rate, the achievement of Kochi International Airport as the first Airport in the Country to be developed in PPP modal are only some of the major attractions of Kerala. He also appealed to the participants to take part in the Vyapar 2017.
